Job description

Description Nationwide gas and electrical inspection company require fully qualified experienced Gas Engineers to cover the Northampton Area and surrounding districts. The main role is to complete gas-safety checks and remedial work. You may be required to install boilers / complete combi swaps, or support other engineers on occasions. Candidate Profile Experience in domestic heating and plumbing systems is a must, this should include up to date Water Regs (Part L), vented and unvented qualifications, ideally the candidate should be familiar with controls and wiring plans and be able to install so they will need the relevant electrical qualification (part P). ACS Certs required for Appliances: – cookers and ranges (CKR1) – boilers - water heaters (CENWAT) - fires (HTR1) - ideally space heaters and warm air (DAH1) Asbestos and Legionella Awareness training is desirable You will also be trained to complete PAT testing The successful candidate must also pass a DBS check The candidate must be able: To diagnose faults, To complete remedial work To carry out installations to a high standard. And also be computer literate Full UK driving licence is required, no previous history of disqualifications. Hours: Must be flexible in order to cover varying appointment schedules, maximum of 40 hours a week normally between 08:30m and 17:30. A Van, fuel card, laptop, phone and test equipment provided as part of the employment package. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake further training as and when required Contract Length: Permanent Other Benefits: 20 days holiday in the first year rising to 22 after 1 years’ service. Additional loyalty days added at 3 and 5 years’ service giving a total of 24 days + bank holidays. 15 hours paid medical appointment leave per year after 6 months service. 5 days company paid sick leave after 6 months service on a rolling 12-month basis.
