SEN GCSE English & Maths Tutor (Year 10) ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEN GCSE English & Maths Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition for a Year 10 student in the London Borough of Havering. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a qualified tutor or teacher with experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who require personalised learning to help them progress towards their GCSEs. As a SEN GCSE English & Maths Tutor, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons in English and Mathematics at GCSE level, adapting your teaching approach to meet the learner's individual needs and learning style. The student benefits from a personalised educational programme and requires a patient, engaging and supportive professional who can create a positive learning environment and encourage consistent progress. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through focused 1:1 support while delivering high-quality SEN provision outside of a traditional classroom setting. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS • Location: Havering • Position: SEN GCSE English & Maths Tutor • Type of Work: 1:1 Outreach Tuition • Start Date: ASAP • Duration/Likely Duration: Ongoing • Contract Type: Temporary • Full Time/Part Time: Part Time • Minimum Rate of Pay: £25 per hour • Hours: 10 to 15 hours per week EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, PGCE • Experience teaching English and/or Mathematics at Key Stage 4 • Experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) • Minimum of 6 months' experience working within a UK school, tutoring environment or alternative provision • Strong understanding of the GCSE English and Maths curriculum • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: • Hold the Right to Work in the UK • Hold an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service, or be willing to process a new DBS application • Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years • Complete all safeguarding and compliance checks in line with Prospero Teaching requirements OTHER If you would like to be considered for this SEN GCSE English & Maths Tutor role in Havering, please apply with an up-to-date copy of your CV.
