Job description

• Work scheduled Enhanced Access sessions across evenings, weekends and bank holidays as agreed. • Deliver appointments within agreed consultation times whilst maintaining high standards of care. • Work across multiple Enhanced Access hub locations where required. • Support equitable access for patients registered with participating GP practices. • Work collaboratively with administrative teams to ensure efficient patient flow. • Escalate safeguarding, significant events and clinical concerns appropriately. • Support service resilience by accepting additional sessions where operationally possible. Clinical GovernanceThe postholder will: • Work within GMC Good Medical Practice standards. • Maintain professional registration and licence to practise. • Comply with TyneHealth clinical governance policies. • Report incidents, near misses and patient safety concerns using TyneHealth reporting systems. • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement activities. • Participate in peer review where requested. • Maintain appropriate indemnity arrangements. • Support learning from complaints and significant events. • Work within local and national clinical pathways. CommunicationThe postholder will: • Communicate effectively with patients, carers and relatives. • Liaise professionally with GP practices, community providers, secondary care and other healthcare professionals. • Work collaboratively with nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, physician associates, paramedics and other members of the multidisciplinary team. • Provide clear clinical handovers where appropriate. Information GovernanceThe postholder will: • Maintain strict patient confidentiality. • Comply with the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and Caldicott Principles. • Follow TyneHealth Information Governance policies. • Ensure secure use of NHS clinical systems including EMIS and SystmOne where applicable. • Complete mandatory Information Governance training. Quality and SafetyThe postholder will: • Deliver care in accordance with evidence-based practice. • Maintain patient dignity, privacy and respect at all times. • Participate in infection prevention and control procedures. • Comply with safeguarding policies for adults and children. • Support equality, diversity and inclusion. • Maintain awareness of health and safety requirements. Professional ResponsibilitiesThe postholder will: • Maintain full GMC registration and licence to practise. • Undertake annual appraisal and revalidation requirements. • Maintain mandatory training. • Participate in continuing professional development. • Maintain professional indemnity suitable for NHS general practice. • Demonstrate flexibility to support service delivery. General ResponsibilitiesThe postholder will: • Work within TyneHealth policies and procedures. • Promote the values and reputation of TyneHealth. • Participate in service development initiatives. • Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
