Geotechnical Design EngineerLocation: London
Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 (depending on experience)
A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join its London office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2-5 years of experience who is looking to progress their career within a collaborative and technically focused team.
Working across residential, commercial, infrastructure and mixed-use developments, you will play a key role in delivering geotechnical designs from feasibility through to construction.
The Role
• Undertake geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining walls, earthworks and slope stability.
• Interpret ground investigation data and geotechnical reports.
• Produce design calculations, technical reports and specifications.
• Carry out geotechnical modelling using industry-standard software.
• Work closely with structural and civil engineers to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Attend design meetings and provide technical support throughout project delivery.
• Ensure designs are completed in accordance with relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
Requirements
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
• Approximately 2-5 years' experience in a geotechnical design role.
• Experience producing geotechnical design calculations and technical reports.
• Familiarity with software such as Oasys, GEO5, Slope/W, Plaxis or similar.
• Good understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes and current design practices.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Working towards Chartership (ICE or Geological Society) is desirable but not essential.
