Goods Inwards Supervisor Location: Reading | Full-Time About the Company Our client is one of the UK's leading specialist distributors, supplying products from many well-known brands. With a strong reputation for customer service, product availability and fast nationwide delivery, they are continuing to grow and are now looking for a Goods Inwards Supervisor to join their operations team in Reading. The Role Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Goods Inwards function, ensuring all incoming deliveries are received, checked, recorded and stored accurately. You will lead a small team, maintain inventory accuracy and support the smooth operation of the warehouse. Key Responsibilities • Supervise the day-to-day Goods Inwards operation. • Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation. • Inspect incoming goods for quality, damage and shortages. • Manage stock receipts and maintain accurate inventory records using the ERP system. • Coordinate stock movements and support stock counts. • Investigate and resolve supplier discrepancies and non-conforming goods. • Lead, train and support Goods Inwards Operatives. • Work closely with Purchasing, Customer Service and Warehouse teams. • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and warehouse standards. • Drive continuous improvement within warehouse processes. About You • Minimum 3 years' experience in a warehouse, logistics or goods receiving environment. • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience. • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills. • High attention to detail and accuracy. • Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP or similar. • Forklift Truck Licence desirable. • Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse best practices.
