Job Purpose To provide a high-quality, professional reception and administrative service, supporting the effective day-to-day operation of the service. The post holder will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of reception and administrative duties while acting as the first point of contact for patients, carers, visitors, and members of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will ensure patients receive a courteous, efficient, and compassionate service by welcoming and directing them appropriately, registering patient information accurately, booking and managing appointments, and maintaining both electronic and paper-based records in accordance with NHS policies and procedures. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will provide administrative support to clinical staff by processing referrals and correspondence, handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries, distributing information and messages promptly, and ensuring effective communication between patients, clinical teams, and external organisations, including secondary care providers, community services, and partner agencies. The role requires excellent organisational, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to the delivery of a safe, efficient, and patient-centred service at all times.
