Graduate 1:1 SEN Intervention Assistant Location: Wokingham Start Date: September Pay: £92.59 - £95 per day Are you a graduate looking to gain practical experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you considering a career in educational psychology, teaching, speech and language therapy, counselling, or child development? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wokingham is seeking a Graduate 1:1 SEN Intervention Assistant to join their team this September. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting a pupil or small group of pupils with additional learning, social, emotional, or behavioural needs. Working alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals, you'll play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress throughout the school day. As a Graduate 1:1 SEN Intervention Assistant, you will: • Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions to support pupils with a range of additional needs • Adapt learning activities to suit individual abilities, helping pupils access the curriculum with confidence • Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and academic development through positive and consistent support • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families to ensure a collaborative approach to support • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed This role is ideal for graduates who: • Have completed a degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, Health & Social Care, or a related subject • Are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs • Are patient, resilient, and eager to develop practical skills in a school setting • Are considering a future career in education, educational psychology, therapy, or another child-focused profession Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine enthusiasm for supporting pupils are what matter most.
