Job description

Graduate/Junior Design Engineer Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield Salary: Competitive An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate/Junior Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business with an international customer base. This role would suit a recent graduate or an engineer with some commercial experience who is looking to develop their career within a highly technical and innovative environment. Working as part of the design team, you will be involved in the design and development of bespoke engineering solutions, supporting projects from concept through to manufacture and installation. Key Responsibilities • Produce 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks. • Support the design and development of bespoke engineering products and systems. • Create and maintain engineering documentation. • Work closely with manufacturing and project teams to ensure designs are practical and fit for purpose. • Assist with design reviews and continuous improvement activities. • Support projects from initial concept through to completion. Candidate Requirements • Degree (or due to graduate) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline. • Experience using SolidWorks is essential. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Good attention to detail. • Ability to work effectively within a team environment. • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach. Desirable Experience • Engineering design experience gained through employment, placement year, university projects or internships. • Product design, mechanical design, electrical design or structural design experience. • Experience producing manufacturing drawings. • Understanding of engineering materials and fabrication processes.
