Graduate Structural Engineer Bristol | £30K–£33K + Package You will like Developing your career as a Graduate Structural Engineer with a respected and growing independent engineering consultancy in Bristol. You will join a friendly, collaborative and technically accomplished team delivering interesting structural engineering projects across a variety of sectors. You will benefit from hands-on mentoring, varied project exposure and structured support towards professional chartership. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Graduate Structural Engineer with up to 2 years’ experience who wants to develop technically, gain meaningful project responsibility and progress within a supportive consultancy environment. You will like The Graduate Structural Engineer role will involve: • Assisting with the structural design and analysis of projects from concept through to completion • Producing structural calculations, technical reports, specifications and design information • Designing structures using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry • Working closely with senior engineers, technicians and other members of the project team • Collaborating with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design professionals • Supporting the delivery of projects in accordance with UK building regulations, design codes and industry standards • Attending site visits, inspections and project meetings as required • Developing your technical knowledge, commercial awareness and project management skills • Taking on increasing levels of responsibility as your experience and capability develop • Working towards professional chartership with the ICE and/or IStructE You will have To be successful as Graduate Structural Engineer, you will ideally have: • A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline • 1- 2 years’ structural engineering experience, ideally gained within a UK consultancy • A sound understanding of structural engineering and design principles • Some experience producing structural calculations and technical design information • Knowledge of UK building regulations, Eurocodes and relevant industry standards • Exposure to structural design, analysis, BIM or CAD software would be advantageous • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills • Good written and verbal communication skills • A collaborative approach and genuine enthusiasm for learning and professional development • Ambition to progress towards Chartered Engineer status Applications are welcomed from recent graduates with relevant placement or industry experience, as well as Graduate Structural Engineers with 1–2 years’ post-graduate consultancy experience.
