Green Space and Cleansing Operative | Environmental Operative | Street Cleaning OperativeExeter | £13.45 per hour | Temporary | Immediate Start | Full-time / Part-time Hours Available IntroductionAcorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of Exeter City Council for 6 Green Space and Cleansing Operatives to support local environmental services across Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and hardworking individuals looking for an outdoor role helping to maintain clean, safe and welcoming public spaces across the city. Please note: Applicants are required to have a full, clean manual UK driving licence. Working Hours • Shift start times between 5am and 7am. • Finish times vary between 1pm and 6pm. • Working 3-5 days out of 7, depending on the role. • Weekend availability for at least one day is preferred. • 7.5-hour shifts include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. • 10.5-hour shifts include 1.5 hours of unpaid breaks. Key DutiesAs a Green Space and Cleansing Operative, you'll play an important role in keeping Exeter clean, safe and looking its best. Your duties will include: • Removing litter and emptying litter bins. • Cleaning public spaces, including car parks and public toilets. • Removing small amounts of graffiti and fly-posting. • Trimming or removing weeds in parks and on roadsides. • Carrying out basic inspections and reporting maintenance issues. • Reporting fly tipping, damaged street furniture, abandoned vehicles and other environmental concerns. • Completing basic paperwork, including inspection records. • Following safe working practices and Exeter City Council procedures at all times. Training ProvidedSuccessful applicants will receive full training across a variety of cleansing services, including: • City Centre solo sweeping. • Van routes. • Deep cleaning. • Car park cleaning. • Public toilet cleaning. RequirementsWe're looking for people who are: • Reliable and punctual. • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. • Able to work independently and as part of a team. • Flexible with working patterns. • Committed to delivering high standards of cleanliness and customer service. • Hold a full, clean manual UK driving licence.
