About UsJoin our dedicated team as a Groom - Polo (Casual) and play an essential role in the care, preparation, and presentation of our polo horses. You will support training sessions, polo matches, and daily yard operations while ensuring the highest standards of equine welfare. The RoleAs a Groom - Polo (Casual), you will be responsible for daily stable duties, preparing horses for exercise and polo activities, maintaining tack and equipment, and supporting riders during training and match days. You will help ensure the horses are healthy, fit, and presented to an exceptional standard. Key Responsibilities • Perform daily stable yard and field duties, including feeding, handling, and grooming horses. • Muck out and clean stables to a high standard. • Prepare horses for exercise, training, and polo matches, including tacking up, cooling down, washing off, and ensuring horses are fit and presentation ready. • Assist with polo-specific duties such as managing multiple ponies during chukkas, pony changes, and supporting riders during training sessions and match days. • Maintain all tack, polo equipment, and yard areas to a high standard, ensuring saddlery is clean, safe, and correctly fitted. • Travel to polo fixtures, competitions, and training venues as required, assisting with horse transport, set-up, and care whilst away from the yard. • Report any horse ailments, infections, or injuries to the Head Groom immediately. • Administer necessary treatments to horses as directed. • Exercise allocated horses daily through lunging, hacking, schooling, or track cantering. • Safely lead fit and excitable horses, including stallions. • Check and maintain the safety and serviceability of all equipment, reporting any repairs needed. • Ensure riding arenas are clean and tidy at the end of each day. • Transport horses as required. • Assist in client activity preparation tasks and riding activities, following correct procedures. • Undertake any other duties as requested by management within the scope of the position. What We're Looking ForWe are looking for someone who: • Has experience working as a Groom and in horse care. • Can ride to BHS Stage 2 standard. • Holds a clean driving licence. • Has experience working with children. • Has an equine qualification (desirable).
