Grounds Person (Highways Grass Team) Berkshire Local Authority £14.59 per hour 4-Month Temporary Contract Full-Time - 37 hours The Role Reed is recruiting on behalf of a busy Local Authority in Berkshire for a Grounds Person to join their Highways Grass Team on a 4-month temporary contract. Working as part of an experienced team, you will help maintain highways verges, public open spaces, and landscaped areas across the borough. This is a physically active, outdoor role suitable for candidates who enjoy practical work and take pride in maintaining the local environment. Key Responsibilities • Grass cutting and vegetation management on highways and public spaces • Operating brush cutters, mowers, and hedge cutters safely and effectively • Hedge trimming and general grounds maintenance duties • Assisting with highway landscaping and environmental maintenance tasks • Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment checks • Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions Essential Requirements • Full UK or European Driving Licence including Category C1+E • Previous experience using: • Brush cutters • Ride-on or pedestrian mowers • Hedge cutters • Good understanding of health and safety practices • Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team APPLY NOW!!
