Group Accountant / Manchester (Hybrid) / Salary £50,000 - £55,000Are you an ACA-qualified auditor ready to step out of practice and into a fast-paced, high-growth environment? We're partnering with a private equity-backed, rapidly scaling business looking to hire a technically strong Group Accountant. This role is ideal for a first-time mover from audit who wants to broaden their experience, gain commercial exposure, and play a key role within a dynamic Group Finance function. The OpportunityJoining a high-performing finance team, you'll take ownership of the month-end close process at group level, ensuring robust financial reporting aligned to FRS 102, while also gaining exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic decision-making. This is a highly visible role offering the chance to drive process improvements, enhance controls, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of a business in growth mode. Key Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate the group month-end close, ensuring all deadlines are met • Review accounting entries to ensure compliance with FRS 102 and best practice • Act as a key contact for external audit, supporting queries and requests • Produce and present variance analysis across weekly and monthly reporting • Partner with commercial teams to understand and reduce reporting differences • Identify risks and opportunities within financial performance • Own the balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness • Drive continuous improvement, streamlining processes and implementing best practice • Support wider ad hoc projects in a fast-evolving environment What We're Looking For • ACA/ACCA qualified, ideally trained within a Top 10 firm • Strong grounding in audit, financial reporting, and controls • Solid understanding of FRS 102 and statutory reporting • Confident communicator, able to engage with senior stakeholders • Analytical mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach • A genuine interest in joining a high-growth, PE-backed business • Clear progression path as the business continues to scale If you're looking to step away from audit and apply your technical expertise in an industry, forward-looking role, this is an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career.
