Job description

Reed Finance are exclusively partnered with a growing organisation in the Sussex area in the recruitment of a Group Finance Director to join their team. This role will oversee all financial aspects of their group of businesses. This pivotal role involves strategic financial planning, financial reporting, risk management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The Group Finance Director will provide financial leadership and guidance to the executive team and other stakeholders, contributing to the overall success and financial health of the organisation. Day-to-day of the role: • Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and implement the group's financial strategy in collaboration with the CEO and other Managing Directors to align financial goals with overall business objectives. • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including management accounts, financial statements, and regulatory filings. • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring robust financial plans are in place to support business operations and growth. • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks to protect the group's assets and resources. • Cash Flow Management: Manage the group's cash flow, optimize working capital, and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet financial obligations. • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations, legal requirements, and accounting standards. • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, banks, auditors, and other external parties. • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting best practices. • Cost Management: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement to ensure efficient use of resources. • Business Partnering: Collaborate with other group businesses to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) • Previous experience. working in the distribution and/or manufacturing sector • Strong systems implementation experience – ideally Business Central. • Extensive experience in senior finance roles, ideally within a group or multi-entity structure. • Strong financial accounting and reporting expertise. • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies. • In-depth knowledge of relevant financial regulations and accounting standards. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
