Group Financial Controller £80,000 - £100,000 + Bonus + Benefits Hybrid Working Liverpool We are partnering with a highly successful, large-scale UK business backed by significant investment and operating at pace across a complex, multi-site environment. With an established market presence and ambitious growth plans, this organisation offers both scale and opportunity-making it an exceptional platform for an aspiring finance leader. As part of their continued evolution, they are seeking an ambitious and high-calibre Financial Controller to join their senior finance team in a pivotal, high-visibility role. The OpportunityReporting into the Group Financial Controller, you will act as a true deputy. Managing a team of 6 and playing a central role in safeguarding the integrity of the group's financial control environment while helping to shape the future direction of the finance function. This is a broad, high-impact role combining technical accounting leadership, people management and regular interaction with senior stakeholders. You will also play a key role in managing the external audit process and driving continuous improvement across finance processes and controls. Key Responsibilities • Own and continuously enhance the Group financial control framework, ensuring robustness and scalability • Act as the technical accounting lead, with particular focus on IFRS standards and complex accounting issues • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team (c.6), building capability and driving performance • Manage and coordinate the external audit process, ensuring efficient delivery and resolution of findings • Drive improvements across financial reporting, controls and wider finance processes • Support the evolution of a best-in-class finance function aligned to a growing business About You • Fully qualified accountant - ideally ACA (or ACCA) with a strong technical grounding • Deep understanding of IFRS and technical accounting, with the ability to interpret and apply standards in a commercial environment • Background in financial control within a fast-paced, commercially driven organisation • Proven leadership ability, with experience developing and influencing others • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to operate at senior levels • Ambitious, driven and motivated to progress into broader finance leadership roles The FitThis role is best suited to candidates from similarly dynamic, operationally complex environments (e.g. multi-site, consumer, FMCG, logistics or related sectors).
