REQ5591 This role will lead SGN’s DataOps and Analytics & Insights capability to deliver trusted insight and performance reporting that drives operational, regulatory and strategic outcomes. We deliver safety, warmth, and comfort to homes and businesses. Every role, whether in the office or on the front line, plays a key part in this mission. Here’s how you will contribute… We’re looking for a forward- thinking analytics leader to define how data drives decisions across the organisation. This role sits at the centre of business transformation, turning complex data into clear insight, shaping strategy, and building a consistent, high-value analytics capability that supports both day-to-day operations and long-term regulatory commitments. • Shape and deliver the enterprise analytics strategy, defining KPIs and a clear roadmap aligned to business priorities and regulatory commitments. • Own the analytics demand pipeline, prioritising work based on value, maintaining a robust backlog, and tracking measurable business benefits across dashboards, reporting and insight. • Lead the design and delivery of high-impact executive, regulatory and operational dashboards with Power BI, ensuring clear storytelling, quality assurance and stakeholder sign-off. • Drive consistency and trust in data by standardising metrics, definitions and semantic models, while simplifying the reporting landscape and eliminating duplication. • Champion a data-driven culture by enabling self-service, improving data literacy, and establishing best practice through frameworks, templates, training and communities of practice. • Collaborate with Information Management and key programme teams (e.g. Salesforce, Oracle Fusion) to translate business needs, align data standards, and agree SLAs for data refresh, quality and issue resolution. What you will need • Proven experience leading analytics or BI teams, ideally within complex or regulated environments. • Strong expertise in reporting and data visualisation tools (such as Power BI), with a solid understanding of data modelling and KPI design. • Experience managing an analytics portfolio — prioritising work based on value and delivering measurable business outcomes. • Confident communicator with the ability to turn data into clear, compelling stories and engage effectively with senior stakeholders. • Good understanding of data platforms and modelling approaches, with experience working alongside data governance and architecture teams. Not sure you meet every requirement? Research shows some people – particularly women and those from underrepresented backgrounds – may hesitate to apply unless they meet every criteria. At SGN, we value diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. If this role interests you but you’re not sure you tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you. You might be just who we’re looking for – now or in the future. Why SGN? SGN leads pioneering research and development for a energy system. Our innovative technologies are transforming the gas industry while keeping people safe and warm. We are an award-winning employer, including CCA Gold Awards for Great Places to Work and Inclusivity and Accessibility, and a proud Gold member of the Armed Forces Covenant. If you require any accommodations or support during the application process, reach out to us. We're here to help ensure an inclusive and accessible experience for everyone.
