Harper May is partnering with a well-established global engineering and technology consultancy, a business that has scaled through both organic growth and acquisition and now supports clients across multiple international markets. As the group continues to expand, it is investing in the reach and influence of its finance function, moving it closer to the operational teams that drive performance. This is a leadership opportunity for a finance professional who wants to move beyond reporting into genuine commercial partnership, with a clear path towards broader finance leadership as the business grows. Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Head of Business Partnering will lead a team of finance business partners and act as the commercial conscience of the organisation. It is a high-visibility role with real influence over how the business makes decisions, and the scope to shape how finance supports a large, fast-moving consultancy through its next phase of growth. The Role • Lead, develop and grow a team of finance business partners supporting operational and commercial leaders • Own the commercial finance relationship with business unit heads, turning performance into clear, actionable insight • Drive budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning across the business units • Partner on pricing, bid and project profitability analysis to protect and improve margin • Provide decision support on investment, resourcing and growth initiatives • Strengthen management reporting and KPIs so leaders can act on them quickly • Identify and drive commercial improvement opportunities across the portfolio • Act as a trusted adviser to senior operational and finance stakeholders What does the right candidate look like? • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified • Educated to degree level • A track record of career progression through finance roles of increasing responsibility • Experience in a finance business partnering or commercial finance role, ideally within a large or multi-site organisation • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn financial data into commercial insight • A confident communicator, able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
