Head of department - Construction Location: East Midlands Contract: Interim Assignment (End of August Start – October/November 2026 end) Hours: Full-time (flexibility available for the right candidate) We are seeking an experienced Head of department - Construction to provide interim leadership across a Construction provision during a key period of the academic year. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing Further Education leader who can confidently lead a department, manage curriculum delivery, and support teams across a range of Construction disciplines. Key Areas of Responsibility You will provide operational and curriculum leadership across areas including: • Construction • Multi-Trade • Brickwork • Painting & Decorating • Plumbing • Gas • Other related Construction curriculum areas About You We are looking for an individual who: • Has substantial experience in Further Education management • Has successfully led Construction or vocational curriculum departments • Can effectively manage curriculum quality, performance and delivery • Is an experienced people manager with the ability to motivate and support staff teams • Understands funding, curriculum planning and learner outcomes within FE • Can quickly build relationships and provide stability during a transitional period What's on Offer • Immediate opportunity to make a significant impact within an established FE setting • Flexible working arrangements can be considered • Supportive and collaborative environment • Opportunity to lead a diverse and successful Construction provision across multiple campuses If you are an experienced FE Construction leader available from late August or early September and are looking for your next interim challenge, we would love to hear from you.
