Job description

New patient health checks Undertake health promotion to help educate patients and assess problems Take ECGs Suture removal/simple wounds Able to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation according to current UK guideline Ensures awareness of statutory and local clinical protection procedures, including Safeguarding Children Chaperoning duties Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Dressing of wounds that have been previously assessed by the nurse Blood pressure checks Height & Weight - BMI Responsible for the daily checking and recording of temperature for vaccine fridge Routine checking for infection control and sterilisation management of instruments used in the treatment room Has a basic understanding of emergency contraception & refers patients as appropriate. Advises on risk of pregnancy and has basic knowledge of contraception options. Influenza/Pneumococcal/B12/shingles immunisations, will undertake vaccinations as outlined subject to specified PSDs.
