With advanced technology and state-of-the-art laboratories, we process around 94,000 blood tests every day, supporting high-quality diagnostics and pioneering research. Our department is internationally recognised as a centre of excellence for translational research, with significant expertise in diabetes and gastroenterology autoimmunity. We work closely with the University of Exeter Medical School, and our laboratories play a key role in delivering research and development activity, supporting clinical trials, and translating innovation into routine practice. In 2021, we received the HSJ Acute Sector Innovation of the Year Award for developing a remote blood testing service for paediatric patients with rare diseases. We are seeking a motivated and organised Reception Supervisor to support the day-to-day operation of our busy Blood Sciences reception. The post holder will be responsible for supervising reception staff, coordinating workflow, ensuring the accurate receipt and processing of samples, and maintaining high standards of service delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of specimens through the department while supporting quality and safety standards. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or reception setting and some supervisory or leadership responsibility would be advantageous.
