Job description

The Healthcare Assistants role in The Minor Injury Unit is a combination of Reception/Clerical responsibilities and delivering safe effective nursing care for all patients within their competency range. Undertake clinical procedures following assessment of competencies under direct supervision of Emergency Nurse Practitioners including application of plaster of paris and dressings. Carry out delegated nursing care including observations of patients. Welcome patients into MIU and book them onto the required IT systems. Adhere to all trust policies and procedures. Report and communicate effectively with other staff members, patients and relatives. Ensure confidentiality, dignity, privacy and respect for patients always. Assist and participate in activities to meet occupational needs of patients.
