HGV Class 1 Driver (Trunking )
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Start Times: Flexible start window between 18.00pm - 19.00pm
Employment Type: PAYE
We are currently seeking a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to join our team, specialising in trunking operations. This role involves transporting goods between depots and distribution centres, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance.
This position is ideal for drivers seeking consistent routes, minimal manual handling, and a structured working pattern.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out Class 1 trunking runs between depots, hubs,.
• Operate articulated vehicles (C+E) safely and professionally.
• Complete deliveries and collections on time.
• Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections (walkaround checks).
• Safely couple and uncouple trailers when required.
• Ensure all loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations.
• Complete all paperwork and digital tachograph records accurately.
• Communicate effectively with transport planners and depot teams.
• Adhere to Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive (WTD) requirements, and all road traffic laws.
Skills & Requirements
• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience.
• Good understanding of UK driver hours and transport compliance regulations.
• Strong reliability, punctuality, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and professionally.
Insurance Requirements
• Minimum 12 months' Class 1 experience.
• No DR10 or IN10 convictions.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).
