High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)Location: Tutor Academy, New Addington Role: High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Pay: Paid to Scale Contract: Full-time Start Date: September 2026 Tutor Academy is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and proactive High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within our Early Learning Provision (ELP), supporting Year 1 children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to pupils with complex needs while working closely with teaching staff to deliver an engaging and inclusive learning environment. This role requires an experienced HLTA who is confident leading whole-class learning when required, supporting planning, and delivering tailored interventions. Experience in a specialist SEN setting is essential. Key Responsibilities • Support Year 1 pupils with ASD within the Early Learning Provision (ELP), delivering tailored learning and interventions. • Work alongside teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons, leading the class when required. • Provide personal care and promote pupils' independence, wellbeing, and positive behaviour. • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Essential Requirements • HLTA qualification (essential). • Makaton trained (essential). • Experience supporting children with ASD within an Early Learning Provision (ELP). • Experience providing personal care. • Previous experience working in a specialist SEN school. • Confident leading a class and supporting lesson planning.
