Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Basildon
Location: Basildon, Essex
Contract Type: Permanent
Start Date: 1 September
Salary: £22,000-£28,000 per annum, depending on experience
A charming primary school based in Basildon, Essex that is looking for an experience TA or already proved HLTA to join them come September. This is a superb opportunity for a committed practitioner who enjoys being in the classroom and supporting pupils in their early stages of learning.
In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality classroom cover, deliver targeted interventions, and work closely with teachers to ensure all pupils receive the support and challenge they need to succeed. You will become part of a collaborative and inclusive school community that values professional development and staff wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide effective classroom cover across Reception to Year 6 using established lesson plans.
• Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions to raise attainment and build confidence.
• Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging learning experiences.
• Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
• Foster positive behaviour and create a nurturing learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and share feedback with colleagues.
• Contribute actively to the wider life of the school.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
• Holds HLTA status or has substantial experience in a similar role.
• Has experience leading learning within a primary school setting.
• Possesses excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Builds strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
• Is adaptable, proactive and confident working across different year groups.
• Has a genuine commitment to helping children reach their full potential.
