Job description

Are you a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a new opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a long-term Higher Level Teaching Assistant for one of our welcoming and inclusive primary schools in North Leeds. This is a long term role starting in September and will run for the full term, with a strong possibility of it extending into 2027. About the Role: As a Higher level Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the whole school. This is a cover-based role, so flexibility and confidence in delivering planned lessons across different year groups is essential. You will be working closely with class teachers and the senior leadership team to ensure continuity and high standards in the absence of teaching staff. Key Responsibilities: • Delivering pre-prepared lessons to classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 • Support learning outcomes by working with small groups and individual pupils • Provide targeted intervention sessions where necessary • liaise with teachers to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum • Uphold school policies and contribute to the wider school ethos Ideal Candidate: • Holds HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) status or significant experience in a similar role • Confident across all primary key stages • Committed, adaptable and passionate about childrens' learning • Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff • Must have a DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to become part of a supportive and forward thinking school community.
