Highways Supervisor

Your New Company A leading UKinfrastructure services provider is seeking an experienced Highways Supervisorto support a growing portfolio of highways maintenance and infrastructureprojects across Glasgow and the South West of Scotland. Working across multipleoperational sites, you will play a key role in ensuring works are deliveredsafely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellentopportunity to join a well-established delivery team working on a variety ofhighways, maintenance and civil engineering schemes within live operationalenvironments. Your New Role As HighwaysSupervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operationsacross a number of active projects, travelling between locations to providesupervisory support, ensure safe working practices and assist site managementteams in delivering works efficiently and to programme. Key Responsibilities • Supervising highways maintenance and civil engineering activities across multiple sites. • Providing leadership and guidance to operatives, gangs and subcontractors. • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with approved RAMS, permits and company procedures. • Leading daily briefings, toolbox talks and safety discussions. • Monitoring productivity, quality standards and programme performance. • Conducting regular site inspections, audits and safety observations. • Supporting Site Managers and operational teams with planning and resource allocation. • Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to maximise efficiency. • Liaising with clients, stakeholders and traffic management teams where required. • Maintaining accurate site records, reports and health & safety documentation. • Identifying and resolving on-site issues while maintaining programme delivery. • Promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture at all times. What You'll Need to Succeed • Previous experience as a Highways Supervisor, General Foreman, Works Supervisor or similar position. • Strong background delivering highways maintenance, infrastructure or civil engineering works. • Experience working within live traffic-managed environments. • Proven ability to supervise direct labour, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams. • Excellent communication and leadership skills. • Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation. • Ability to work independently across multiple locations. • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel throughout the region.
