Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with this Client, a thriving secondary school in the borough of Lambeth, to appoint a committed and passionate History Teacher to join their team full-time from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to teach motivated students across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a supportive, ambitious, and well-established Humanities department. This Client is a well-regarded secondary school that has been praised in its most recent Ofsted inspection for its strong leadership, positive learning culture, and improving outcomes for students. Inspectors highlighted the school's inclusive ethos, high expectations for behaviour and achievement, and the dedication of staff to ensuring all learners are supported to reach their full potential. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging History lessons, assessing student progress, preparing students for GCSE examinations, and contributing to the wider life of the Humanities department. You will be expected to inspire curiosity, develop students' understanding of historical events and concepts, promote academic excellence, and support the school's continued drive for improvement. Job role requirements include teaching History across KS3 and KS4, strong subject knowledge across a range of historical periods, the ability to deliver high-quality lessons that challenge and engage all learners, effective classroom and behaviour management, and a commitment to raising attainment. You should be confident in using assessment data to monitor progress and inform planning, while also contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities. The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, a relevant degree in History or a closely related subject, and experience teaching within a secondary school environment. ECTs with strong subject knowledge and successful teaching placements are also encouraged to apply. The successful teacher will be enthusiastic, resilient, organised, and passionate about History, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues. This Client offers a supportive leadership team, well-resourced classrooms, opportunities for professional development, and a positive working environment where staff are valued and encouraged to develop their careers. The school is easily accessible via excellent transport links across Lambeth, with nearby Underground, Overground, and bus routes providing convenient access from across London.
