Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Full-Time OpportunityLocation: Ipswich Start Date: September 2026 Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience Are you a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for a varied role where no two days are the same? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a welcoming primary school in Ipswich that is looking to appoint a dedicated HLTA for a full-time position starting this September. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive school community where your skills will make a real difference across the primary phase. About the RoleThis is a diverse position combining whole-class teaching with targeted pupil support. Your responsibilities will include: • Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS through to Year 6 to cover PPA time, staff training and teacher absence. • Maintaining an engaging and positive classroom environment that encourages pupils to achieve their best. • Leading small-group and one-to-one intervention sessions in English, maths and other curriculum areas when not providing class cover. • Supporting teachers to raise attainment and close learning gaps. • Promoting high expectations for behaviour, learning and pupil wellbeing throughout the school. We're Looking For Someone Who: • Holds HLTA status or has substantial experience leading lessons within a primary setting. • Is confident working with children across all primary year groups. • Has excellent communication and organisational skills. • Can build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and families. • Brings enthusiasm, flexibility and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
