Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Wigan Start Date: September Salary: Competitive, based on experience About the Role Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a dynamic, full-time role? Or perhaps you are a Cover Supervisor or Instructor looking to secure a stable position in a highly supportive school environment? Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a versatile and passionate HLTA for a welcoming primary school based in Wigan. This is a full-time position working 5 days a week, starting this September. The role is initially on a temporary basis with a strong potential to go permanent for the right candidate. As an HLTA, you will play a pivotal role across the school, stepping in to lead classrooms and maintain a high standard of learning in the absence of the class teacher or during scheduled PPA time. Key Responsibilities: Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. Covering classes independently to support teachers' PPA time or short-term absences. Managing classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. Adapting to different year groups quickly and seamlessly. Collaborating with teaching assistants and class teachers to provide feedback on pupil progress.
