Job description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and professional Hotel Night Porter to join our team in. The Avoca Hotel. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel during overnight hours, providing exceptional guest services and maintaining security throughout the premises. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and a strong understanding of hospitality standards. Bar experience is also required for this role, along with availability from Thursday evening through to Monday morning. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality to contribute to a welcoming environment while working overnight shifts. Responsibilities • Welcome and assist guests arriving during night hours, ensuring a warm and professional first impression • Handle guest enquiries via phone, email, or in person with courteous and efficient communication • Maintain security by monitoring CCTV, conducting regular patrols of the hotel premises, and managing access control • Respond promptly to guest requests or issues, providing solutions or escalating as necessary • Assist with administrative tasks such as check-ins/check-outs for late arrivals and maintaining accurate records • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address any room or facility issues promptly • Ensure the safety and security of all guests and staff during overnight shifts • Keep the reception area tidy and organised throughout the night shift Experience • Previous experience in hotel reception, concierge, or hospitality roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided • Strong phone etiquette and excellent communication skills are essential • Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly advantageous to serve our diverse clientele effectively • Familiarity with guest services standards within a hospitality environment is desirable • Experience in security or night porter duties is a plus but not mandatory; training will be available for relevant responsibilities This role offers an engaging opportunity for individuals committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences while working during the quieter overnight hours.
