This rewarding role works closely with people who have experienced homelessness and/or rough sleeping, often alongside multiple and complex support needs. As a Housing First Support Officer, you will play a vital role in helping people secure and sustain safe, permanent accommodation, providing the practical and emotional support needed to maintain their tenancy and improve their quality of life. Key responsibilities include: • Providing day-to-day support to residents within Housing First accommodation. • Arranging and reporting property repairs and maintenance issues, carrying out pre- and post-tenancy inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements. • Working proactively with partner agencies to identify, manage, and reduce risks to customers and the wider community. • Building positive relationships with customers and external organisations, signposting and referring individuals to appropriate services and support. • Developing and reviewing person-centred support plans, ensuring residents are actively involved in setting and achieving their goals. • Attending and contributing to internal and external support planning meetings. • Working closely with supported accommodation providers and social housing landlords to identify suitable move-on opportunities for residents. • Managing a caseload of customers with varying and often complex needs. • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive manual and electronic records, including assessments, support plans, customer contacts, outcomes, and risk management documentation. About You We're looking for someone who is motivated, empathetic, and able to build trusted relationships with people facing significant challenges. With a sound understanding of housing management, rent account management, tenancy administration, risk assessments and support planning, you will be able to demonstrate significant experience of supporting people with complex needs who require high levels of support. You will have experience of developing effective, collaborative relationships with accommodation providers and support agencies, together with knowledge of the local support landscape including Mental Health Services, Health Services, Welfare and Benefits support and other relevant agencies. You will also be able to work independently, manage complex priorities and remain self-motivated with minimal supervision.
