Job description
HR Advisor - Permanent
Location: Kidlington, 4 days in the office, 1 day WFH, with travel across sites
Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 per annum dependent on experience plus benefits
Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a broad, hands-on role within a fast-paced and growing organisation?
We are partnering with a well-established and highly respected business to recruit their first HR Advisor to join their growing HR function. This is an exciting opportunity to join a people-focused organisation where you'll play a key role in supporting managers, driving best practice, and contributing to a positive employee experience across the business.
Based predominantly in Kidlington, this role supports approximately 300 employees across three UK locations. While most of your time will be spent at the Oxford site, you will be required to travel to the organisation's other UK locations on a quarterly or ad hoc basis.
As the business operates around the clock, some flexibility around working hours will be required from time to time to ensure managers across different shifts have access to HR support and guidance.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of HR, you will provide a proactive, professional and commercially focused HR service across a multi-site operational environment.
This is a varied generalist role, offering exposure to employee relations, recruitment, policy development, wellbeing initiatives, management coaching, organisational development and HR projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Providing HR advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters including absence, disciplinary and grievance cases
• Supporting and overseeing onboarding, induction and probation processes
• Advising managers on employment law, HR best practice and risk mitigation
• Supporting recruitment activities, including coaching hiring managers and participating in interviews
• Promoting employee wellbeing initiatives and supporting people-related programmes
• Assisting with the review and implementation of HR policies and procedures
• Producing and analysing HR data and management information, including absence, turnover and recruitment metrics
• Delivering training and development initiatives across the business
• Supporting organisational change projects and wider HR improvement programmes
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
About You
We're looking for an approachable and pragmatic HR professional who enjoys building relationships and adding value within a busy operational environment.
You will have:
• CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous HR generalist experience within a fast-paced, multi-site environment
• Strong employee relations experience
• Experience supporting recruitment and performance management processes
• The confidence to challenge, influence and coach managers
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A practical, solutions-focused approach
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
Experience within logistics, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, engineering, or a similarly operational environment would be advantageous.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, influence people practices and work closely with operational leaders, we'd love to hear from you.
