HR & Payroll Officer Permanent | Full-time (all year round, with flexibility for a 42-week contract on a pro-rata basis) Site based - no home working About the Role Reed HR is supporting a growing organisation in the education sector to recruit an experienced and detail-oriented HR & Payroll Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional with a background in people administration, payroll, and employee lifecycle processes to join a collaborative central team. The role offers exposure to a broad HR generalist remit while supporting multiple sites within a structured environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, finance colleagues, and external providers to deliver accurate, compliant, and efficient HR and payroll services. This position is well suited to someone looking to further develop their HR career within a dynamic and expanding organisation. Key Responsibilities • Manage end-to-end recruitment administration, including onboarding and pre-employment checks • Support the preparation of contracts, variations, and employee records • Liaise with external payroll and pension providers • Prepare and check monthly payroll data, ensuring accuracy and compliance • Assist with pension administration and respond to related queries • Act as a first point of contact for HR and payroll queries, delivering a high-quality service • Provide administrative support across employee relations processes (e.g. absence, disciplinary, grievance) • Maintain HR systems, workforce data, and compliance records • Produce reports and workforce insights to support decision-making • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support workforce and operational needs About You • Must be CIPD Level 3 qualified • Education industry experience - essential • Strong communication skills • Payroll experience (and preferably pensions) if you have worked with EPM this will be a bonus Benefits • Competitive salary with annual review • Exposure to a broad HR remit across multiple sites • Supportive and collaborative working environment • Opportunities for professional development
