Hygiene Manager FTC with Strong Potential to Become Permanent £45,000 circa South Wales | 8 miles from Newport | Just outside Cardiff City Centre | 1 hour from Central Bristol We are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful food manufacturing business to recruit a Hygiene Manager for their South Wales site. Following several years of sustained growth and success, our client has developed an outstanding reputation within the industry for quality, operational excellence, and employee retention. As a result, opportunities to join this business are rare, making this an exciting chance to become part of a well-respected and ambitious organisation. This position is initially being offered on a fixed-term contract basis due to budget structures, however we are specifically seeking a candidate of permanent calibre. For the right individual, there is a strong likelihood that the role will become permanent, offering long-term career prospects within a growing business. The Role Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will lead and develop the hygiene function, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, compliance, and operational performance are consistently achieved. Hours: Day Shift Key Responsibilities • Lead, motivate and develop the hygiene team, promoting a high-performance culture. • Ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards. • Deliver and continuously improve hygiene performance through KPI achievement. • Manage CIP systems and all associated documentation for interim and deep cleaning activities. • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence. • Build strong working relationships across Production, Technical, Engineering and Leadership teams. • Plan labour and resources effectively to maximise efficiency and control costs. • Ensure all hygiene, food safety, technical and customer standards are consistently met. • Support team development through coaching, training and succession planning. • Maintain positive employee relations through the fair and consistent application of company policies. About You We are looking for an experienced Hygiene Manager or an ambitious Hygiene Team Leader/Supervisor ready to take the next step in their career. You will have: • Previous hygiene leadership experience within food manufacturing. • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and audits. • Experience managing cleaning schedules, hygiene compliance and ideally CIP systems. • Excellent people management and communication skills. • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving.
