Description
• Maintain and optimise the organisation's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Support the implementation of new technologies to enhance system efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise downtime.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure goals with business needs.
• Ensure all systems adhere to security and compliance standards.
• Document processes and system configurations for future reference.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams as required.
Profile
A successful Infrastructure Engineer should have:
* Strong Linux administration (Ubuntu) and Windows Server.
* Production virtualisation experience (Proxmox, VMware or Hyper-V).
* Software-defined / clustered storage (Ceph, vSAN or comparable).
* SQL Server administration including Always On AG / Windows failover clustering.
* Enterprise networking (Cisco or equivalent): VLANs, vPC/LACP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
* Scripting and automation (Bash and PowerShell).
* Monitoring/observability tooling and structured incident response.
* Typically 3-5 years in a hands-on infrastructure or 3rd-line role.
