Your new company East Midlands | Large Complex Local Authority Your new role Business Analyst (Children's Services Transformation)East Midlands | Large Complex Local Authority | Interim Contract Inside IR35 A large and complex Local Authority in the East Midlands is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the implementation of a new operating model across its Children's Services directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a major transformation programme, helping to review, redesign and improve operational processes that support frontline services. The focus is on business change and service improvement, rather than IT systems implementation. The RoleWorking closely with service managers, operational teams and senior stakeholders, you will map current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and help design future-state operating models that enhance efficiency, consistency and service delivery. Areas of focus are likely to include referral pathways, operational procedures, case management processes and business support functions across Children's Services. Key Responsibilities • Lead business analysis activities to support service transformation initiatives • Map and document end-to-end operational processes and workflows • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions • Conduct gap analysis to identify inefficiencies, duplication and improvement opportunities • Develop future-state process maps and operating procedures • Provide recommendations that support service improvement and organisational objectives • Support implementation of new ways of working across service areas • Produce high-quality documentation and reporting for programme stakeholders • Understanding of frontline service delivery environments What you'll need to succeed About You You will be an experienced Business Analyst with a strong track record of process mapping, service redesign and operational improvement within large organisations. You will possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across a range of teams and services. Essential Experience • Proven Business Analysis experience • Strong process mapping and process improvement capability • Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and requirements gathering sessions • Service redesign and operational change experience • Ability to analyse complex processes and translate findings into practical recommendations • Knowledge of methodologies such as Lean, Service Design, Agile or Continuous Improvement frameworks Desirable Experience • Children's Services, Social Care or SEND experience • Local Government or wider Public Sector background • Experience supporting transformation programmes and operating model reviews What you'll get in return Flexible working options available.
