Interim Financial Controller

CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with a well-established, private equity–backed services organisation is looking for an interim Financial Controller to join them on a 9 month fixed-term contract. Reporting into the Finance Leadership Team, you will take ownership of high-quality management accounts and deliver meaningful commercial insight that supports both operational and strategic decisions. What will the Interim Financial Controller role involve? • Lead and support the finance team through a period of transition, including the move from Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to Finance and Operations • Prepare and manage weekly cash flow forecasts, ensuring strong treasury oversight across the wider group • Maintain tight control of the balance sheet through robust reconciliation processes, identifying and implementing improvements where needed • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, improving collaboration outside of finance • Lead on budgeting and forecasting processes, supporting effective business planning • Manage the financial audit process, ensuring readiness and smooth delivery What are we looking for the Interim Financial Controller role? • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, modelling) • Confidence partnering with non-finance stakeholders and adding commercial value • Experience in construction, property services or project-based/contract environments • Exposure to Power BI, Power Query or reporting transformation • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central or Finance & Operations) CMA Recruitment Group is acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this role.
