Job description

Are you an experienced Head of Finance looking for your next interim challenge? Do you enjoy supporting organisations through periods of change whilst providing stability to the finance function? Could you quickly become a trusted member of a close-knit Executive Team? We're delighted to be supporting a respected Housing & Care provider in the recruitment of an Interim Head of Finance on an initial six-month contract. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll take ownership of the finance function at a pivotal time, providing assurance, continuity and leadership. Key responsibilities include: • Leading the finance function and managing a small finance team • Producing timely and accurate management and statutory financial reporting • Supporting the Executive Team and Board with financial insight and advice • Maintaining a strong financial control environment and overseeing audit requirements • Supporting budget setting and financial planning for the next financial year • Providing oversight across payroll, treasury, cashflow and regulatory reporting • Coaching and supporting members of the finance team where required • Ensuring the organisation continues to operate smoothly through a period of transition This is a well-run organisation that has undergone significant positive change over the past two years. The finance function is stable, audits have improved considerably and the priority isn't to transform the department... it's to provide experienced leadership, maintain momentum and give confidence to both the Executive Team and the wider organisation. The contract is expected to run for six months, with attendance in the Kent office three days per week. The role will be inside IR35 paid via Umbrella company and candidates are advised to familiarise themselves with this payment method before applying. To be considered, please meet the following criteria: • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) • Previous experience operating as a hands-on number one in Finance within social housing • Strong understanding of Housing Association regulatory and financial reporting requirements, as well as those in the Care sector • Experience presenting financial information to Boards and senior stakeholders • A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to challenge constructively • Comfortable operating in a hands-on role within a smaller organisation If you're looking for an interim role where your experience and calm leadership will make an immediate difference, we'd love to hear from you.
