Job description

Interim Supply Chain Director Caerphilly £ Day Rate equivalent to £80 - £90k Our client is a well-established family business based in Caerphilly. Due to continued growth and investment, they are seeking an experienced Interim Supply Chain Director to lead and transform the end-to-end supply chain function. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for developing a resilient, scalable and commercially focused supply chain strategy that spans demand planning, procurement and inventory control. This role is based on site for the duration of 6 months with the potential to move to permanent employment thereafter. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement the company's end-to-end supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives and future growth plans. • Lead Procurement, Demand Planning, Inventory and Warehouse operations, ensuring products are available to meet customer demand whilst optimising working capital. • Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers, negotiating commercial agreements, improving performance and reducing supply risk. • Develop robust Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to improve forecasting accuracy, inventory optimisation and service levels. • Own and deliver supply chain KPIs across supplier performance, OTIF, inventory, cost, quality and customer service. • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, planning and logistics, driving efficiency and reducing operational costs. • Ensure resilience across the global supply base by developing sourcing strategies, dual sourcing opportunities and proactive risk management plans. • Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing supply chain leadership team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and Finance to ensure supply chain capability supports new product introductions and business growth. • Champion the effective use of ERP systems, data analytics and reporting to improve visibility, decision making and operational performance. Key Skills & Experience • Proven experience in a senior Supply Chain leadership role within a manufacturing or engineered products environment. • Strong background across Procurement, Planning, Inventory Management and Supplier Relationship Management. • Demonstrable experience developing and implementing supply chain strategies that improve service, reduce cost and support business growth. • Strong commercial acumen with proven success negotiating strategic supplier agreements. • Experience leading S&OP and demand planning processes within a manufacturing environment. • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams and driving organisational change. • Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments would be advantageous. • Strong analytical capability with experience using ERP systems and supply chain data to drive performance improvements.
