ROLE: Internal Compliance and Risk Solicitor LOCATION: Lincoln (other branch locations considered) SALARY: Competitive and dependent on experience HOURS: 09:00 – 17:15, Monday – Friday (part-time considered) CONTRACT: Permanent The Opportunity We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded regional law firm for an Internal Compliance and Risk Solicitor to join their team. This is a senior, high-impact role working closely with the firm's COLP and leadership team and represents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced solicitor looking to move into a dedicated risk and compliance function within a firm of real quality and reputation. The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping how the firm manages legal risk, professional negligence matters and complex complaints, while also contributing to broader improvements in governance, client care and operational standards across the business. Benefits • 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank and public holidays), including birthday leave • Life Insurance at 3x annual salary • Employee Assistance Programme including counselling, 24/7 GP access, physiotherapy, gym discounts and cashback benefits • 25% discount on legal services • Client and employee referral schemes • Continuous professional development and training opportunities • Active social committee and events programme The Role Working closely with senior leadership and reporting into the COLP, your responsibilities will include: • Advising on professional negligence risks and claims across the firm • Managing complex complaints from initial investigation through to resolution • Liaising with insurers and external counsel, and contributing to claims strategy • Assessing liability and exposure across a range of matters • Providing clear, practical and commercially minded guidance to senior stakeholders • Contributing to improvements in risk management, compliance frameworks and client care standards across the firm The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a senior solicitor with a strong grounding in professional negligence or litigation, and a genuine interest in risk, governance and how a firm operates at a strategic level. • Qualified Solicitor with a strong background in professional negligence or litigation (essential) • Experience in, or a strong interest in, risk management, compliance or governance within a legal environment • Commercially minded with sound judgement and a high level of attention to detail • Confident communicator, able to engage credibly with senior stakeholders and provide clear, practical guidance • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously within a senior leadership environment • Collaborative approach with a genuine interest in improving firm-wide processes and client experience About Our Client Our client is a well-established regional law firm with a strong presence across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the East Midlands, operating from multiple offices.
