Job description

Investment Delivery Manager - Field BasedHalfords Careers Worcestershire - West Midlands £46,347 per year - estimated ? Full time NEW About us Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. We're a place for co-creators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that's still evolving. As the UK's leading retailer of motoring and cycling products, we're supported by one of the country's largest independent vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair networks through Halfords Autocentres. This breadth gives us a strong, stable foundation - and the freedom to keep innovating and growing. That means real variety for our colleagues, along with the opportunity to learn, stretch and develop as the business moves forward. Whatever your role, you'll be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional service - using your expertise to solve problems, guide customers and help keep the nation moving with confidence. About the role As an Investment Delivery Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering investment projects across our estate, ensuring every programme is implemented safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you will lead multiple projects from planning and scoping through to implementation and completion, helping to bring our strategic investment plans to life. Reporting to the Property Development Manager, you'll drive project delivery excellence by managing resources, mitigating risks, maintaining governance standards, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact across the business, leading projects that enhance our stores, support our colleagues, and improve the customer experience. Key responsibilities • Lead the delivery of Group investment projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards. • Manage all on-site investment activities, including refurbishment, transformation, and site closure projects. • Own and maintain project management methodologies, governance processes, documentation, reporting, and delivery toolkits. • Drive continuous improvement by identifying, capturing, and embedding lessons learned and best practice across programmes. • Ensure all projects are delivered in line with agreed designs, specifications, brand guidelines, POS standards, and planograms. • Proactively manage project and programme risks, providing solutions and escalating issues where appropriate. • Support resource and capacity planning, identifying manpower requirements to successfully deliver investment programmes. • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication throughout project lifecycles. • Lead project scoping and pre-contract activities, completing required documentation and following up on actions and concerns. • Review and challenge store layouts, merchandising plans, and space planning proposals to support successful implementation. • Provide expert guidance and support to site teams throughout the investment delivery process. • Ensure robust project close-down processes are completed, including handover documentation and resolution of outstanding actions. • Support and develop Field Delivery Managers, building capability to deliver smaller-scale projects and investment activities independently. About you • Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others, with a passion for developing people and building high performing teams. • Proven ability to manage resources, budgets, and project delivery effectively. • Highly organised, with strong planning and prioritisation skills. • Able to work to tight deadlines while maintaining high standards. • Experience working with merchandising principles and planograms. • Practical knowledge of construction and building projects, whether domestic, commercial, or industrial. • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills. • Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This is a field-based position which will require travel & overnight stays. Not sure you meet all the criteria? We'd encourage you to take the wheel and apply anyway! At Halfords we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our colleagues. We're an equal opportunities employer and proud to welcome applications from all backgrounds and embrace diversity within our one Halfords Family.
