Job description

Senior IT Infrastructure Manager Location: Hammersmith, London (Hybrid, minimum 3 days per week in the office) The Opportunity A successful, privately owned financial technology business is looking to appoint an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Manager to take ownership of its Microsoft cloud infrastructure, modern workplace environment and operational resilience. This is a genuine hands-on leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of the IT function. You'll lead a small internal infrastructure team whilst remaining technically involved, working across Azure, Microsoft 365, security, networking, disaster recovery and supplier management. The business is investing heavily in technology, automation and AI, making this an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation where IT is viewed as a strategic function rather than simply a support service. What You'll Be Doing You'll take ownership of the organisation's cloud infrastructure and modern workplace environment, ensuring systems remain secure, resilient and fit for future growth. This is not a role where you'll simply manage suppliers or delegate technical work. You'll be expected to stay close to the technology, helping to troubleshoot complex issues, improve infrastructure, drive operational excellence and support the wider business. Alongside the technical leadership, you'll manage a small infrastructure team, work closely with third-party providers and play a key role in improving service quality across the organisation. A major focus during your first six months will be strengthening disaster recovery, enhancing infrastructure monitoring and helping deliver a more modern workplace. Key responsibilities include: • Leading the Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. • Improving disaster recovery, business continuity and operational resilience. • Managing infrastructure operations, monitoring, backups and security. • Leading major incidents, supplier relationships and continual service improvement. • Developing reporting, operational standards and infrastructure governance. • Supporting the adoption of automation and AI to improve efficiency. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys remaining technically hands-on whilst leading people and driving improvement. You'll be comfortable moving between senior stakeholder conversations and technical problem solving, with the ability to challenge suppliers, identify root causes and continuously improve the environment. To be successful you'll have strong experience across Microsoft cloud technologies and enterprise infrastructure, together with a genuine passion for delivering an excellent internal customer experience. You'll ideally bring experience with: • Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. • Entra ID, Intune and endpoint management. • Windows infrastructure, networking and security. • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning. • Infrastructure monitoring, backup and operational support. • Managing technical teams, suppliers and MSPs. • Working within business-critical or regulated environments. Why Apply? • Join a profitable, growing technology-led organisation. • Take ownership of a modern Microsoft cloud estate. • Lead infrastructure strategy whilst remaining technically hands-on. • Play a key role in automation, AI and digital transformation initiatives. • Work within a collaborative environment where your ideas will influence the future direction of IT. If you're an experienced Infrastructure Manager looking for a role where you can combine technical expertise with leadership and make a genuine impact on a growing business, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today for a confidential discussion.
