Description
• Oversee performance, reliability, and security of IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms and networks
• Support design and ongoing improvement of IT systems and architecture
• Ensure systems are patched, maintained, and aligned with best practice
• Provide technical guidance and escalation for complex issues
• Manage IT hardware lifecycle and maintain accurate asset registers
• Maintain and enhance cyber security controls, policies, and procedures
• Monitor vulnerabilities, security risks, and threats across systems
• Respond to and manage IT and security incidents
• Act as Data Protection Lead, ensuring GDPR compliance and data security controls
• Support audits and maintain documentation for compliance purposes
• Manage third-party IT providers and service delivery standards
• Produce reports on IT performance, risks, and compliance status
• Provide day-to-day IT support and act as a key technical contact for staff
• Support onboarding/offboarding processes and access control management
• Assist with IT budgets and procurement
• Support meeting room and digital workplace technology
Profile
A successful IT Manager should have:
• Strong IT infrastructure knowledge, including cloud services and networking
• Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and cloud-based environments
• Understanding of cyber security principles and best practices
• Knowledge of identity and access management and endpoint security
• Experience in IT, systems, or information security roles
• Experience working with third-party IT providers
• Familiarity with GDPR and data protection requirements
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Relevant IT or systems qualification
• Desirable: experience with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, or compliance frameworks
• Desirable: Data Protection Lead qualification or similar
