IT Trackside Support Engineer Up to £42,000 DOE | Fixed-Term Contract Brixworth – F1 Are you an experienced 3rd Line IT Support Engineer looking for a role that combines cutting-edge technology with the fast-paced world of motorsport? We're looking for a technically strong and customer-focused IT professional to join a specialist Trackside IT team, providing mission-critical support to race operations and testing environments. This is a unique opportunity to work with advanced technologies, support high-profile stakeholders, and play a key role in ensuring IT services perform flawlessly in demanding, time-sensitive environments. The Role As a Trackside Support Engineer, you'll provide expert operational support across a diverse technology estate while acting as a senior technical escalation point for complex incidents and projects. Working within a small, highly skilled team, you'll deliver exceptional support both on-site and remotely, ensuring business-critical systems remain available throughout testing and race events. You'll also contribute to continual service improvement, technical projects and mentoring colleagues where required. This role includes participation in an out-of-hours support rota, including 24/7 remote support during Formula 1 and Formula E race seasons. Key Responsibilities • Provide expert 3rd Line technical support across Trackside and Test Operations environments. • Own incidents, requests and escalations through to successful resolution. • Deliver technical solutions throughout the ITIL service lifecycle. • Act as a technical SME, supporting colleagues and key business stakeholders. • Identify opportunities to improve IT services, processes, reliability, security and performance. • Ensure all work adheres to IT governance, security standards and best practice. • Build strong relationships with internal teams and third-party suppliers. • Support operational and project-based activities while meeting demanding SLAs and deadlines. • Champion service improvements and continual innovation. Technical Skills & Experience We're looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer with strong 3rd Line troubleshooting skills and experience across the following technologies: • Windows 10 & Windows 11 • Mobile Operating Systems (iOS & Android) • Microsoft Azure Stack • Microsoft 365 • Multi-vendor hardware build, deployment and break/fix • Active Directory • Group Policy Management • Change Management • Jira ITSM (or equivalent ITSM platform) • Networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WAN, LAN and VLAN • Cloud and physical storage technologies • Performance monitoring, availability monitoring and restoration • 2–3+ years' experience in a senior IT Support / 3rd Line Support role or equivalent Qualifications Essential • ITIL Foundation (v3 or v4) • CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge • Degree or equivalent commercial experience Desirable • Microsoft Certifications • CCNA Certification • Previous Formula 1 Trackside experience (or similar high-performance environment) • A genuine passion for Formula 1 and Formula E About You You'll be: • Adaptable and able to thrive under pressure • Resilient and capable of making quick decisions in fast-paced environments • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality • Approachable and collaborative • Skilled at analysing technical issues and identifying effective solutions • Passionate about technology and motorsport What's on Offer? • Salary up to £42,000 DOE • Opportunity to support world-class motorsport operations • Exposure to cutting-edge technologies • A varied role combining operational support and technical projects • Work within a highly skilled, collaborative IT team • Excellent opportunity to develop specialist Trackside IT expertise
