Overview A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Maidstone is looking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–3 years’ experience to gain exposure across a broad range of accounting and tax work while continuing to develop professionally. You’ll be working closely with senior team members, supporting a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, gaining hands-on experience and building your technical skillset in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role is Monday–Friday with a full-time working pattern and strong prospects for progression. Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed. Duties • Provide bookkeeping support across a varied client portfolio • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns, ensuring deadlines are met and submissions are accurate • Support the production of management accounts, including budgets and forecast reporting • Prepare statutory accounts for a range of owner-managed businesses • Assist with both personal and corporate tax return preparation • Support the preparation of tax computations alongside accounts work • Provide occasional assistance to the payroll function when required • Prepare and submit Annual Confirmation Statements and other Companies House filings • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance requirements are met across your portfolio • Work closely with senior accountants and managers to support client delivery and deadlines What we're looking for A successful candidate will have between 1–3 years’ experience within an accountancy practice environment, with exposure to accounts preparation, bookkeeping and tax work.
