Lawyer - Contract

Rate: £65ph - £75ph Location: Remote with some court attendance Duration: 3 Months but could be extended to 12 months A highly regarded public sector organisation is seeking a qualified Lawyer to join its legal team, providing expert advice across a broad range of local authority matters. The Role • Deliver high-quality legal advice to members and officers • Manage a varied caseload across areas such as property, planning, litigation, commercial contracts or housing • Draft and negotiate legal documents and support transactional work • Attend and advise at committees, meetings and (where required) court or tribunals • Support governance processes by reviewing reports and ensuring legal compliance About You • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx (or equivalent experience) • Strong experience advising on public sector or local authority matters • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships • Commercially aware with strong drafting and analytical skills Additional Information • Exposure to a wide range of complex and impactful legal work • Opportunity to contribute to service development and innovation • Some evening meeting attendance may be required
