Job description

Lead Paediatric Nurse – Complex Care Location: Hybrid Working Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week About the Role As the Lead Paediatric Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership and oversight for a caseload of children with complex medical needs, ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered safely and effectively. Working within a hybrid model, you will balance clinical, operational, and leadership responsibilities, supporting care teams, conducting assessments, developing care plans, and liaising with multidisciplinary professionals and family members. Key Responsibilities • Lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality complex care services for children and young people. • Conduct clinical assessments, reviews, and risk assessments. • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans. • Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and training to care teams. • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding requirements, and clinical governance frameworks. • Build strong relationships with families, healthcare professionals, commissioners, and external stakeholders. • Participate in regular quality assurance audits and service improvement initiatives. • Support with service development and contribute to the growth of the complex care division. Essential Requirements • Registered Nurse qualification (RGN or RCN) with active NMC registration. • Significant paediatric nursing experience. • Previous experience supporting children with complex healthcare needs. • Competency and hands-on experience with: • Tracheostomy care • Ventilator management • PEG feeding and enteral nutrition • Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills. • Excellent communication and leadership abilities. • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
