Lead Salesforce Developer (Team Lead) Location: Kent (Hybrid/Fully remote options available) Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior/lead level Salesforce Developer (Team Lead) to join a growing technology function and lead the delivery of scalable, high-quality Salesforce solutions. This role combines hands-on Salesforce development with technical leadership, offering the chance to mentor a small development team while driving best practice, platform governance, and solution delivery. You will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical leaders to design and implement robust Salesforce solutions that support business growth and transformation. This position is ideal for an experienced Salesforce professional who enjoys balancing technical excellence with team leadership and coaching responsibilities. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and support a small team of Salesforce Developers through coaching, technical guidance, and code reviews. • Act as the Salesforce technical lead, providing expertise across design, development, and delivery activities. • Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce. • Build and maintain integrations with internal and third-party systems using APIs, middleware, and modern integration patterns. • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to refine requirements and define technical solutions. • Contribute to architecture discussions, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to business objectives. • Plan and prioritise development activities to ensure successful delivery of projects, enhancements, and platform improvements. • Participate in Agile delivery processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. • Define and enforce development standards, coding best practices, and governance frameworks. • Support CI/CD processes, release management, platform optimisation, and technical debt reduction initiatives. • Maintain high standards of documentation, testing, security, and platform performance. Required Experience • Extensive hands-on Salesforce development experience, including: • Apex • Lightning Web Components (LWC) • Visualforce • Proven experience leading, mentoring, or managing a small development team. • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modelling, and platform best practices. • Experience integrating Salesforce with external applications and enterprise platforms. • Knowledge of Git, Salesforce DX, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments. • Strong stakeholder engagement and technical leadership capabilities. Desirable Experience • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification or equivalent. • Experience across Salesforce products such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Experience Cloud. • Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and middleware technologies. • Exposure to automated testing frameworks and quality assurance practices.
