Job description

Criminal Law Admin / Paralegal Location: Birmingham Salary: From £28,000 (higher for Police Station Accredited candidates) Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm A reputable Birmingham law firm is seeking an experienced Admin/Paralegal to join its busy Criminal Law Department. The Role You'll provide administrative and legal support to solicitors, assisting with a range of criminal matters while ensuring excellent client care and efficient case management. Key Responsibilities • Managing case files and legal documentation. • Diary management and monitoring key court dates. • Liaising with courts, police stations, prisons, clients, and external agencies. • Preparing bundles and correspondence. • Updating and maintaining case management systems. • Using platforms such as Common Platform, CJSM, Egress, and the Crown Court Digital Case System. • Supporting legal aid administration and case progression. Requirements • Previous experience within Criminal Law is essential. • Strong organisational and communication skills. • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Police Station Accreditation is highly desirable and will attract a higher salary.
