Legal Cashier
Location: Wirral
Salary: Up to £32k

We're seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join a long-established law firm based in the Wirral. The firm provides clear, cost-effective legal support across a wide range of services, including employment law, residential conveyancing, wills, and probate, landlord services, and broader commercial and dispute-resolution matters. Key Responsibilities
• Managing incoming and outgoing payments for both client and office accounts, ensuring all activity aligns with AML requirements and SRA rules
• Handling card transactions, including taking and recording card payments
• Preparing and actioning electronic bank payments and transfers
• Performing routine bank reconciliation tasks
• Overseeing petty cash, including logging transactions and carrying out reconciliations
• Producing and processing billing documentation
• Supporting month-end finance procedures and reporting
• Maintaining purchase ledger records and processing supplier invoices
• Implementing the firm’s policy on client interest
• Keeping track of outstanding residual client balances and addressing them appropriately
• Responding to day-to-day finance queries within the team
• Offering general assistance across the accounts and administrative departments to keep operations running smoothly
What We're Looking For
• Previous experience working within a legal finance or legal cashiering role
• Strong understanding of AML procedures and SRA compliance standards
• Confident using Microsoft Office applications
• Able to collaborate effectively within a team and manage tasks according to priority
• Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships
• High level of accuracy with a strong focus on detail
